1. Who we are

Cakeaide (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a mobile application that helps cake bakers and small cake businesses manage ingredients, supplies, recipes, orders, quotes, shopping lists, reminders, timers, and subscriptions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your choices and rights. By using the Cakeaide app, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

2.Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you use the app.

  1. Information You Provide

• Account and profile: name, email address, profile photo, business name, business contact information, and any optional profile fields you add. Note: none of the profile fields are mandatory.

• Recipes, ingredients, supplies, orders, quotes, shopping lists, reminders, timer records and related photos or attachments you upload.

• Support communications: emails and messages you send to our support address or in-app support forms.

• Payment & subscription info: we do not store full credit card details inside Cakeaide. Subscription and purchase transactions are processed by the App Store, Google Play, or third-party payment processors; we may store transaction receipts, subscription status and related metadata.

B. Automatically Collected Information

• Device and usage data: device identifiers, operating system, app version, crash logs, and usage metrics (e.g., features used, screen views).

• Analytics and performance data for improving the app.

• Push notification tokens (if you opt-in to notifications).

C. Third-party Sources

• Information from third-party services you use to log in (if applicable) or from integrated services (e.g., analytics providers).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve Cakeaide features (recipes, quotes, shopping lists, reminders, timers, profile management, etc.).

• Process subscription status and purchases (through App Store / Google Play / payment processors).

• Communicate with you, including responding to support requests and important account or service notices.

• Personalize your experience and provide in-app content.

• Troubleshoot and fix bugs, conduct analytics, and monitor performance and security.

• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EU/EEA)

 If you are in the EU/EEA, our legal bases for processing personal data include:

• Performance of a contract (providing the app and services you requested).

• Consent (for any optional features like marketing communications).

• Legitimate interests (maintaining app functionality and security, improving the service), balanced against your privacy rights.

• Legal obligations (e.g., retaining records for lawful purposes).

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We will not sell your personal information. We may share information:

• With service providers who help operate the app (e.g., Supabase for backend and database, Firebase for optional analytics/push/crash reporting). These providers process data on our behalf under contract.

• With third-party payment processors or App Store/Google Play for purchases and subscriptions.

• To comply with laws, legal processes, or government requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cakeaide, users, or others.

• In connection with a corporate transaction (e.g., merger, sale, reorganization), but users will be notified and data protection obligations will be maintained.

6. Data Storage, Security, and International Transfers

• Storage: Your data is stored on servers managed by our providers (for example Supabase and/or Firebase). These servers may be located in multiple countries.

• Security: We use industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and authentication safeguards. However, no electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure.

• International transfers: By using Cakeaide, you consent to transfer of your data to countries outside your residence where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

7. Data Retention

• We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

• You can request deletion of your account and data (see “Your Rights” below). Some information may remain in backups or as required by law for a limited period.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access personal data we hold about you.

• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

• Delete your account and personal data.

• Port your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

• Object to or restrict certain processing.

• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise your rights or make requests, email support@cakeaidepro.com. We may ask for identity verification before fulfilling requests. We aim to respond within applicable legal timeframes (typically within 30 days).

9. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account from inside the app (if an account deletion feature is provided) or by contacting support@cakeaidepro.com. After deletion, we will deactivate your account and remove personal data subject to any legal retention requirements.

10. Marketing and Promotional Communications

We may send promotional emails and in-app messages if you opt-in. You can opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe link or contacting support@cakeaidepro.com. Transactional and service messages (e.g., important account notices) are not subject to opt-out.

11. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store your device’s push token to deliver notifications. You can disable notifications via your device settings.

12. Children’s Privacy

Cakeaide is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information of a child under 16, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us personal data, contact support@cakeaidepro.com.

13. Third-Party Links and Integrations

The app may link to third-party websites or use third-party services. These third parties have their own privacy practices and are not covered by this policy. We recommend reviewing their policies when interacting with third-party features.

14. Cookies and Similar Technologies

On web versions or pages (if applicable), we use cookies and similar technologies for analytics, personalization, and performance. Mobile equivalents (local storage, identifiers) are used for similar purposes. You may control some of these through device settings or in-app preferences.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy with a new effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or by email.

17. Additional Notices for California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA, including the right to request categories of personal information collected, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To submit requests, contact support@cakeaidepro.com. We will verify requests in accordance with legal requirements.
