I initially launched Cake Aide six years ago. The goal was to create a useful app that bakers could access on the go. The idea was borne out of my frustration that there were no apps that could generate shopping lists.

When I started my cake business, I didn’t have space for buying in bulk so I only shopped when I needed to — which sometimes meant five trips in one day because I was always forgetting something, or I’d run out of an ingredient because I had to remake a bad batch.

It took years of trials and persistence, but I finally built the tool I wish I’d had back then.
